Birthday cakes

Beware! this post is not for bloggers on a diet!

Blackberry #1 turns 6 this week πŸ™‚

I cannot believe how time flies.

In a few hours it will be exactly 6 years ago that my water broke.

Do you have any good suggestions for a birthday cake?

Here are some cakes from Blackberry #1’s past:

Each year he had 2 parties, one for the family and another one for his little friends.

1th Birthday:

Ladybug cake, chesnut flavour.

Husband ordered a hazelnut cake for his first birthday! I got really upset, because at this age they are not supposed to eat nuts yet, so I did not want him to get an anaphylactic shock right on his birthday, so I baked him a pumpkin cake (the heart shaped ugly one in the back πŸ™‚

2nd Birthday:

This a chocolate cake made by the mother-in-law.

Another ladybug cake from the same bakery, but bigger and better, chocolate flavour.

3rd Birthday:

Elmo cake. Chocolate-banana flavour.

Thomas the tank engine’s friend train cake. Chocolate-banana flavour. This thing was huge! We were eating it for days πŸ™‚

4th Birthday:

A number 4 cake. They didn’t cut out the middle part so it was not perfect, but it was chocolate-banana flavour πŸ™‚

Lightning Mcqueen cake. Chocolate-banana flavour.

5th Birthday:

Lego block cake. Chocolate-banana flavour.

Blackberry #1 loves marzipan on his cake, as you can see πŸ™‚

So anybody? Any suggestions? We need something more sophistcated, we are 6 this year πŸ™‚

What is your favorite cake?

  1. They look great! I think Alex had a meringue with lemon curd and cream for his 6th birthday ( sadly he wanted it green so it tasted yummy but looked weird!) and Max had a broom cake (Harry Potter days). Happy Birthday Blackberry!!

    • Thanks for noticing my pumpkin cake! πŸ™‚ We have a saying in hungarian: ugly but yummy. So that is what my pumpkin cake was:) He is into alot of things: Lego, Hot wheels, Transformers, CARS, Monster University….
