Sausage

A couple of weeks ago we went up north to visit some family, who live in a small village next to the big city of Debrecen.

We always have a really great time when we go for a visit πŸ™‚

They live in a really interesting place. The village has a really old agricultural high school, which has a big lovely park, in which there is a street in which there are these look-alike houses where the teachers used to live. Well the wife of our relative used to teach there, so they have a nice house there. Another interesting fact is that the agricultural high school, which is like 75 years old, is named after a relative of my Mother-in-law. So I guess she used to have famous relatives πŸ™‚ That was the first time I found anything interesting about my MIL. HA-HA πŸ™‚

So every winter we go visit them and the men make sausages!

So while the men were working, the women made lunch and I spent the day with my boys, taking big walks, sleding etc….

Have you ever been to a sausage making event?

  1. I have a thing about sausage: i just don’t like them (my hubby does claim Finnish sausages are not real sausages, maybe that is the reason?)! But I would totally love to go to this kind of an event and see how they are made!!! And my kids love them, so they’ll join andthreetogo on her eating event πŸ˜‰

    • Thanks πŸ™‚ I agree: the look of sausages aren’t too appealing. Luckily we don’t have snow anymore. This was in the beginning of February. It is actually spring here, the weather was really nice in the weekend, 22 Celsius. But today it went all bad, it is puring rain, all day and like only 10 Celsius 😦

  2. I love that you can locate sausage making out in the middle of nowhere in an unmarked building. Very old school! What a treat, and your big wrapping blanket looks heavenly too! xo
