Blackberry #1’s Indoor Playground Birthday Party

On November 13th Blackberry #1 turned 6. Each year he has a party for his little friends. Untill this year it was always in our flat. But this year after reading a great post at kids”r”simple : http://kidsrsimple.com/2013/11/07/having-fun-party-at-fungiggles-giveaway/

I decided to host Blackberry #1’s birthday at an indoor playground. It has alot of pros: no cleaning the flat before or after the party, no dish washing. nothing gets broken, and more room for the kids to run.

The only cons is the money, it is kind of expensive. But I found an indoor playground pretty close to our flat, that is not that big, but this way you get to rent out the whole thing for 3 hours, no strangers are allowed during the party. It turned out I knew the owner so I even got a discount. The price includes 15 kids for 3 hours, face painting, games, a cake! and photographing!

The party was great, 15 kids came (12 boys, 3 girls).

The guests are arriving:

Birthday cakes

Beware! this post is not for bloggers on a diet!

Blackberry #1 turns 6 this week 🙂

I cannot believe how time flies.

In a few hours it will be exactly 6 years ago that my water broke.

Do you have any good suggestions for a birthday cake?

Here are some cakes from Blackberry #1’s past:

Each year he had 2 parties, one for the family and another one for his little friends.

1th Birthday:

Ladybug cake, chesnut flavour.

Husband ordered a hazelnut cake for his first birthday! I got really upset, because at this age they are not supposed to eat nuts yet, so I did not want him to get an anaphylactic shock right on his birthday, so I baked him a pumpkin cake (the heart shaped ugly one in the back 🙂

2nd Birthday:

This a chocolate cake made by the mother-in-law.

Another ladybug cake from the same bakery, but bigger and better, chocolate flavour.

3rd Birthday:

Image

Elmo cake. Chocolate-banana flavour.

Image

Thomas the tank engine’s friend train cake. Chocolate-banana flavour. This thing was huge! We were eating it for days 🙂

4th Birthday:

Image

A number 4 cake. They didn’t cut out the middle part so it was not perfect, but it was chocolate-banana flavour 🙂

Image

Lightning Mcqueen cake. Chocolate-banana flavour.

5th Birthday:

Lego block cake. Chocolate-banana flavour.

Blackberry #1 loves marzipan on his cake, as you can see 🙂

So anybody? Any suggestions? We need something more sophistcated, we are 6 this year 🙂

What is your favorite cake?
